Trauma-Informed Therapy for High-Stress and High-Responsibility Professionals in Washington, D.C.
When you carry significant responsibility, performance matters.
Many of my clients are capable, disciplined, and highly functional. They manage demanding roles where steadiness, discretion, and clarity are essential. From the outside, they usually appear composed. Internally, they may remain constantly “on,” struggle to power down, contend with sustained tension, experience abrupt surges of stress, disrupted sleep, heightened vigilance, or responses shaped by prior high-impact experiences.
And insight alone hasn’t shifted this.
If you are operating at a high level but sense that something underneath is still working against you — especially in specific environments, relationships, or high-pressure contexts — this work is designed for you.
The aim is not simply to discuss stress.
The aim is measurable, sustainable stability under pressure — so your internal state supports the level at which you operate.
Sessions are conducted via secure telehealth from a private clinical setting outside the D.C. region.
For Professionals in Roles Where Steadiness, Clarity, and Performance Are Essential
This work is designed for individuals who operate in environments where steadiness and effectiveness are not optional.
It may be a strong fit for:
- Professionals in high-pressure roles
- Leaders and decision-makers responsible for complex outcomes
- Military, former military, and professionals in operationally demanding roles
- Individuals who maintain composure outwardly while managing significant internal pressures
- Those integrating intense life experiences or high-impact events
- Individuals who understand their patterns intellectually, yet find the same automatic or counterproductive responses repeating under pressure
This work builds steadiness, clarity, and effectiveness in the environments where you lead and live.
In more direct clinical terms, this work often addresses anxiety, panic attacks, phobic responses, trauma, and post-traumatic stress — particularly when these patterns persist beneath otherwise strong executive functioning.
A Results-Oriented, Integrative Approach
This work is trauma-informed, neuroscience-grounded, and experiential.
Lance may incorporate:
- EMDR
- Somatic and mind-body therapies
- Clinical hypnosis
- Parts therapy (including Internal Family Systems)
- Heart–brain coherence training and structured breath-work
- Dream integration methods
- Meditation-based regulation techniques
This is active, collaborative work.
In our work together, we focus on strengthening:
-
Clear thinking and sustained attention
-
Clear-headed steadiness under pressure
-
The ability to recover quickly after stress
-
Restorative sleep and the ability to power down — to shut it “off” at night
-
Emotional flexibility without loss of control
-
Steadiness in high-stakes environments and relationships
Insight alone is rarely enough.
What changes outcomes is shifting how you respond when it matters.
Calm, Structured, Confidential
Many high-responsibility professionals are used to being the steady one in the room. Therapy becomes the place where you do not have to perform steadiness — you build it from the inside.
Sessions are:
- Direct and grounded
- Structured without rigidity
- Private and discreet
- Focused on durable change
You do not need to fall apart for therapy to be effective.
You need an approach that works.
